grOw/cinema, Episode V, now about 70% done!

I didn't get as many frame completed this week as I had hoped, but I still put in a lot of work since the last preview. Many of the frames I worked on were quite detailed, had many characters in them, had new characters, or took place in a setting that had to be reworked in my 3D program.  Some of the "new" characters showed up in previous issues, but now needed real "reference" material as we are seeing the up close and personal now; so, there was some "research" time there. In addition, I am not as quick to draw new characters until I get "used to" them, like I have Carl, Heidi, and Heather. I have also been retooling the last third of the Episode, adjusting dialogue and even camera angles for better experience.

I'm making steady and good progress!  Hang in there!  (More time means more previews, at least.)

grOw/cinema, Episode V, now 57% complete!

We are now over the hump, with 46 frames complete, and a frame 47 halfway done. With a total of 82 frames in this Episode (for now... I've been editing and adding as I go), we are now about 57% done. 14 frames is a great achievement, considering the complexity of some of them, and some time-consuming "real life" work that unexpectedly tripped me up (a hacked WordPress site anyone??).

grOw/cinema, Episode V, now about 40% done!

I worked a little later than usual (esp. for a Friday), and was able to both complete frame 32, and made more than 50% progress on frame 33 today. This is great progress, especially considering some factors — some "real life" work; Halloween (we do a lot with out house); and the complexity of the recent frames' artwork and layouts. There were a lot of overlapping characters in these frames, which results in more work per frame (and more time). And they came out great!

Hang in there! I hope to be well over the hump by the end of next week!

grOw/cinema, Episode V, frame 21 completed!

I had a much better week this time around, completing frame 21 and making a great start on frame 22 of Episode V. This means Episode V is now 25% done!

There were a lot of detailed frames, with plenty of overlapping characters and liquid effects, which, as mentioned before, takes extra time.  The overlapping takes more time planning, and drawing all the intersecting lines. And then the inking and painting takes longer due to the fact of having to select and color more and smaller sections.

grOw/cinema, Ep.V, Artwork begins!

The drawing, inking, and painting of Episode V of grOw/cinema has begun! This week, I was able to complete the first 9 frames.  I had hoped for more, but this was actually a good number considering a few delays: a) I was away Monday; b) I had to build the 3D background for the first scene before drawing began; and c) today was a total wash as "real life" work consumed me completely.  Today's loss of time for grOw/cinema was utterly (udderly?) unexpected. I had originally hoped to complete up to frame 12 by the end of this week, minimum. There is always next week, and no big delays on the horizon at this time. The countdown to release begins!

Episode V will feature: BE (big, huge, wow!); PE (super porn-star; huge); Ass expansion ("kardashian" to very big); Pussy expansion (big!.. as well as leftover sizes from last issue);  miniGTS (Tall woman between 6'6" and 9'; and miniGTS up to 11').  There will also be re-introductions to characters who haven't appeared since Episode I.

grOw/cinema, Ep. V script and storyboards completed!

Version 2 of the script is now complete, with a number of refinements and additions made as storyboard progress caused new ideas to emerge, and problems to be solved.  Storyboards for all 83 frames are also done. Artwork to begin next week, as soon as I create a new backgrounds.  The action will be moving to a new room in the house, and I have to build it in my 3D program first, before beginning the drawing and coloring.

This early weekly update is being made tonight as I will be out on a mini-vacation for the next 5 days. Work begins again on Tues., Oct 17.

Work on grOw/cinema, Episode V has begun!

The release of Episode IV of grOw/cinema was a success, and many of you expressed excitement for the issue and for more in the future!  Well, more will definitely be coming!

Since the release of the last issue, I've been busy.  The first thing I did was nearly complete the newly-designed BustArtist website to modernize it and make it mobile-ready ("responsive"). I just have to finish adding the ecommerce plug-in to my WordPress design and set the parameters to all the grOw items.  I will wait until the current Episode IV sales die down to do so, to minimize any disruption (it may take a few hours to switch over to the new site).

I've also been working on the next issue of grOw/cinema (Episode V). The final name of this episode has not yet been set in stone, but I am working on a punny variation of "the Higgs Boson".  😉

I've written the first draft of the script, which will be edited and fixed up as I draw the rough storyboards for the issue. As of today, I completed the storyboards up to frame 46 (out of 80-82 frames). The storyboarding definitely helps me refine the script, as I realize that some things written don't always play nicely when turned into visuals. In addition, when roughing out the images, new and better ideas come to mind, and I refine the script (which I have done already).

I hope to begin drawing and painting the actual frames next week.  Note: next week will be a short one, as I head out of town for a long weekend on Thursday, returning the following Tuesday.

Stay tuned!

grOw/cinema now 87% complete! Frame 72 done!

I just finished frame 72 of Episode IV of grOw/cinema. I made great progress this week, especially considering the amount of multiple and overlapping characters in most of the frames, as well as a plethora of different liquid effects required. With a last-minute story review and edits, I am not sure if I will end the chapter on frame 81 or 82. So, only 9 or 10 frames to go (plus "cover poster")!  Hang in there! We're getting very close to release!

Episode IV, titled "Genital Relativity", will feature breast expansion (huge, Wow!); nipple expansion; lactation; penis expansion (huge!); vagina expansion (huge!); ass expansion (huge!); very excessive cum and cum-induced breast expansion; and reality and personality altering.

grOw/cinema, Episode IV, now 76% completed!

It was a short week of work on grOw/cinema this week. Monday was a holiday here in the US, and I had to spend a full day on "real life" work to get a project mostly our of the way, so that I could focus on grOw/cinema more.  I just finished frame 61 out of 82, including a 6-frame long "animated" sequence. This sequence had a lot of moving parts — body parts that is!

Friday, September 1, 2017

grOw/cinema, Episode IV, now 63% complete

Work on grOw/cinema, Episode IV ("Genital Relativity") continues, with up to frame 52 completed this week. I am just shy of two-thirds done with the current chapter. A combination of "real life work" and some detailed frames slowed the overall number of frames completed this week. However, the ones finished came out great, and are of awesome sequences. There were a number of frames with multiple characters overlapping each other, which always takes more time to plan, set the camera angle, select and color each overlapping appendage, etc. Some special effects were also needed (certain liquid effects, and the like).

52 frames done, 30 to go!

Friday, August 25, 2017

grOw/cinema, Ep.IV over 50% completed!

I just realized that I didn't make an update last Friday, as I usually do.  I guess I was so wrapped up in working on grOw/cinema, trying to compete the sequence I was working on at the time, that I forgot to post a preview.

Work continued at a more brisk pace this past week. The "real life" projects that came in are either completed or waiting for client input. So, in the meanwhile, I can put my full energy on grOw/cinema.

This week, I was able to complete up to frame 44, and got a great jump on the next 3 pages (which are an "animated growth sequence", and thus, are worked on simultaneously). With 44 pages of 82 planned frames done, that is exactly 53% of this Episode squared away!  We're over the hump now, and racing towards the finish line.

grOw/cinema, Ep. IV — 25% completed

The latest Episode of grOw/cinema is now one-fourth completed. While not finishing as many frames as I had wanted this week (due to "real life work" talking up so much time this week), I was still able to get 7 and a half frames done this week. These frames also feature a lot of overlapping characters and many faces in each frame, all of which also talk more time per frame.  I hope to get back to a good 15 frames per week rate soon.

grOw/cinema progress and SizeCon

Well, last week was SizeCon 2017 and it was a lot of fun!  Spent the 2 days speaking to fans, new visitors, and other producers of content. Also attended a few panels and was a panelist for a few of them as well (Inflation & Expansion Panel as well as the Relationships Panel along with my wife, Juleikat).

The week leading up to SizeCon was busy preparing for the event, as well as working on some "real life" work. A few panels of the next grOw/cinema were also completed.

This week, while continuing to work on grOw/cinema, Episode IV, I was also inundated with more "real life" work. This slowed work on the latest Episode, unfortunately. However, I did my best to continue on, and completed frame 13 today (out of about 80 or so).

A number of "real life" projects may continue to slow grOw/cinema progress over the next few weeks, as they are a bit large. So, unfortunately, time between releases will not be as quick as the last few. However, work WILL continue!

Artwork for grOw/cinema, Ep. IV begins!

The first frame of Episode IV of grOw/cinema has been completed! It took a while to get to this point (more on this below), but the trip to the next release has begun! This new chapter will be about the same extra-long length as the others and will feature BE (huge, Wow), Ass expansion (Very huge), Penis expansion (Very huge!), pussy expansion (huge!), lactation, nipple expansion, excessive cum, MILF,  strong sexual situations, as well as the usual reality and personality alterations. I am still making edits and some changes to the script as I go, but have started and will continue to work on the art as I do.

So what has happened since the last release? I know there were only 2 weeks between the release of Episode II and the first preview of Episode III. This time around, it's been about 5 weeks. Many things were going on during that time frame, which prevented me from beginning the latest Episode.

Initially, I used the days after the release to get some "real life" work projects done that I had temporarily put off so that I could get Episode III out the door as soon as possible.  Then, I took at least a week to work on the new BustArtist.com website. I made a huge dent in this undertaking, but still have a lot more to go. I didn't realize I had so many issues, each needing its own page. Eventually, this WordPress conversion will happen, and mobile users will be much happier.

Then, I took a few days to create brand new artwork which I will make available at my SizeCon table.  Yes, the first-ever, printed, BA merch has been created!  Six brand-new pieces of artwork, covering various fetishes, will be at my table in 8.5"x11", full-color, glossy postcards. The prints came out wonderful (just got them delivered today!) and are of a high-quality. Some of these 6 prints also feature artwork in genres that I've never done before — blueberry, shrinking woman, and shrinking man (OK, this maybe very quickly in my old pencil comic). Two more feature GTS (one mega!). The last one is a BE-Ass expansion combo, which will be a poster at the Con. You may have seen it, if you've followed updates from SizeCon or my DeviantArt gallery. The others won't be revealed until SizeCon.

Also during this time between issues, my wife ("Juliekat") and I took about a week off from work. A much needed mini-vacation, we spent it with visiting family, and took a long weekend away during that time.

Juliekat also threw me a birthday party during that week, to celebrate my... I can't believe I am saying this... 50th birthday.  Yikes!  I was a sprite 29-year-old when I was introduced to the "internet BE community" (which was quite small and scattered back then) back in 1996.  21 years later, I am still contributing and enjoying it immensely. I still consider myself a sprite 50-year-old, though a little softer in the middle, and a little grayer (OK, a lot) on top.

The last week was filled with another "real life" project, as well as completing the script to Episode IV which I started about 3 weeks ago. I also sketched out the rough thumbnails for each panel. With those 2 done, I was able to draw and color the first full panel of Episode IV.

The countdown to the next release has begun!

grOw/cinema, Episode III completed. Release soon...

Late last night, I just finished the last frame and "cover poster" for Episode III of grOw/cinema. At 81 frames, this episode will feature BE (huge), lactation, Ass expansion (huge), MILF, some PE, bulging bra, stretching and too-small clothing, button popping, reality and personality change, and strong sexual situations.

Right now, I am working on corrections (as my wife completed her first round of proofreading last night, and will be doing the second round tonight). Too many typos — they're easy to miss when you've written, typeset, and reread it so often that you "see" things that aren't there. (For example, I read "pantyhsoe" so many times, I never saw the typo.) I am also fixing a few "art errors" (such as a necklace that shows in some frames, and disappears in a few others).

Then, it is on to creating the final PDF, working on the website graphics, and programming the website and store. (Note: I haven't yet completed the new website I mentioned in some previous posts — sorry to those mobile visitors.)

Don't look for a release today (Thursday). However, barring a huge disruption, I should be able to release this Episode tomorrow (Fri., Jun 16), just 63 days since the last release (most releases in 2015 and 2016 were between 91 and 127 days).

grOw/cinema, Episode III: only 5 frames to go!

Made some great progress this week — even while working on "real life work" projects as well — and completed 11 more frames this week! That brings us very close the end, with only 5 frames more to go (plus the "cover poster")!  The frames I worked on this week each took some extra time as compared to most others. Each one had a lot of "character overlapping" in each frame, as well as working on an "animated sequence" (which works great in this format when you "turn the page").

Hang in there!  We are getting very close!

grOw/cinema, Episode III, frame 65 completed and more...

While I produced less than a good week, I was able to complete a decent 7 frames in the next Episode of grOw/cinema. However, not only that, but I wrote the script and started planning out frames 66-80.  You see, I originally thought I would end this particular chapter at frame 65 (which I completed today). But I decided that I would extend it, if I could use the next 15 frames to: a) bring it up to a similar count to the first 2 extra-long Episodes; and b) make the storyline be enticing enough. I believe I have. I can now definitely say (you may notice that I hadn't done so until now) that this Episode will be about 80 frames.  Only 15 more to go!  Hang in there!  We're getting close!

grOw/cinema, Episode III, frame 58 complete!

I just finished frame 58 of the latest Episode III. Wait, only 58?  Yes, unfortunately. This week, I got hit from all sides with "real life" work, some of which caused serious "technical crises", which took almost a day and a half alone. And, as usual, different clients all seemed to conspire to ask for work at the same time (no less that 4 projects this week). However, I endeavored to press on with grOw/cinema, and was able to complete 6 frames, some of which took longer due to "sequential" work.

Three of the "real life" four projects have been wrapped up and will not carry into next week.  The last one is on-going for the next 3 weeks or so, but shouldn't take an exorbitant amount of time. So, except for Monday which is a holiday here in the States, next week should be a solid grOw/cinema production week!

Friday, May 19, 2017

grOw/cinema, Episode III, frame 52 completed!

I didn't get as many frames as I wanted to, but, considering that I had a lot of "real life" projects to work on this week, I did quite well. I was able to complete another 15 frames, bring the total to 52 so far. But these frames were also quite detailed, and took some serious layering and alignment. There are a number of "animated" sequences in this episode, and this can take longer. (OK, not really animated, but when you flip the page, the subtle changes from frame to frame to frame makes the image look like it's moving.)

Friday, May 12, 2017

grOw/cinema, Episode III, frame 37 complete!

Coming here tonight to give an update on the progress of the latest Episode of grOw/cinema, I realized that I hadn't posted an update last Friday!  Whoops!  I vaguely remember running late last Friday, and promised myself I would come back and post an update later in the evening. Obviously, I got side-tracked and that didn't happen. So, I will post 2 previews this week!

So far, I was able to complete 34 frames since the last update 2 weeks ago, with frame 37 completed and work on frame 38 well underway. I am still undecided on where to end this Episode timeline-wise, so I am not stating how long this chapter will be just yet.

For now, enjoy these 2 previews from Episode III, titled "The Milky Lay"!

grOw/cinema, Episode III, work underway!

Episode III of grOw/cinema is fully underway!  The week after the release of Episode II, I spent the time taking a break (which I usually do between issues) and used the time to do other things — such as "real life" work and the new BustArtist website! Then, this past week, work switched back to grOw/cinema.

This week focused on really ramping up production on Episode III. This included writing the full script; sketching out thumbnails for each frame planning of the  issue; more building out of the 3D backgrounds; and beginning the drawings, inking, and painting of the newest issue. In fact, even after all this work, I was able to complete the first 3 frames of this newest chapter.

Episode III will feature:  breast expansion, lactation, ass expansion, some penis expansion, MILF, and strong sexual situations, as well as the usually reality and personality changes.

As for the new website, I am very pleased on how it's coming along so far.  I think this will be a great leap forward in bringing full responsiveness to your experience when visiting my site.

grOw/cinema, Episode II: issue finished! Release soon!

Episode II of grOw/cinema, "The Ever-Expanding Universe", has been completed, including the "poster cover" image. Now, I need to proofread and correct, compile the PDF, create the store graphics, program the store, and upload the website files. I am looking to release the issue sometime tomorrow (Friday 4/14/17), if all goes right.

If I can release it tomorrow, that will be very cool as it will be the fastest release of a grOw/cOmic or grOw/cinema since 2008's release of grOw/cOmic#3, issues 1, 2, and 3.  And out of all 45 releases of grOw (cOmics, stOries, and cinema), only 7 issues were released quicker (from the time of the previous release).

grOw/cinema, Ep.II, frame 73 complete, new pen arrives!

The new Wacom pen arrived late Wednesday of this week, allowing me to get back to work on grOw/cinema, Episode II.  Because of the delay, I didn't finish as many frames as I had hoped, but the days without a working pen for my Cintiq didn't go wasted.

I planned out a number of camera angles for the final frames of this issue, and rendered some of the backgrounds, so that I would be that much more ahead. I didn't need the Cintiq for this, so it didn't matter if I didn't have a working pen.

I also made a great progress on another project that I have been thinking about for a while: reworking my website. It currently is fairly outdated as it is not mobile compatible and responsive.

Over the last 3 months, I had been learning WordPress, and even built a WordPress site for someone. With that knowledge, I started on the redesign of the Bustartist.com website. It will be completely responsive to any device, and will make future updates much easier, once it becomes reworked using a CMS like WordPress. I really like how it's coming along so far, but there is still much to do. It won't be done before the next release (especially since, now that the new pen is here, I want to focus solely on completing Episode II).  While I work on Episode III, however, I will spend maybe 1 day a week working on the new website, while concurrently working on the next episode during the other 4 days.

Monday, April 3, 2017

It's on its way!

Yay! New Wacom pen is on its way. Then it's back to work!  (Note: that is US format date, so Apr 5th expected delivery...not May 4th   :)  )

grOw/cinema, Episode II -- 68 of 82 frames complete!

There are now 68 of 82 of Episode II of grOw/cinema now finished! Actually, I was hoping to have up to frame 70 done by end of today.

Unfortunately, at about 3pm today, while working on the drawing for frame 69, my Wacom Cintiq's pen broke!  Doh!  While brushing some lint off of the handle, the back part suddenly came off in my hand. Then, I couldn't slide the casing and exposed electronics back in. Then, a few pieces came off near the switch. At this point, it was useless to continue. I immediately purchased a new pen online from Wacom, and spent a premium 2-3 day shipping cost. This would avoid up to a 4-7 business day delivery... which would have meant up to a week and half! And with the company being on the opposite coast from me, it would be the full 7 business days. So, hopefully, it will come mid-next week.

If this hadn't had happened, I could have easily finished 2 more frames. I will also lose a few days of work next week waiting for the new pen's arrival. But I will try to see if I can use the time to work on the backgrounds for the rest of the frames (I don't need the Cintiq for this). I may even try to begin the website updates for the release when this Episode is complete.

Hang in there!  Only 14 frames to go after the new pen arrives!

Friday, March 24, 2017

grOw/cinema, Episode II now 57% completed!

We are well into the second half of Episode II with another 16 frames completed this week. This is a pretty good number considering the amount of overlapping characters, special liquid effects, and the fact of having to create a new setting for our characters. 47 frames out of 82 are now done. I really enjoyed working on these last number of images as there was definitely some real "flesh sculpting" going on.  ;)  Enjoy the preview!

Friday, March 17, 2017

grOw/cinema, Episode II, 38% done

It was slower going this past week than I had hoped, but I was able to complete up to frame 31 out of 82 for Episode II of grOw/cinema. A combination of "real life" work as well as more complicated frames (interacting and overlapping characters as well as matching up to 3D-rendered backgrounds) were the biggest causes. The extra work on the frames takes more time, but the results are great!  Hoping for a more prolific production schedule next week!

Friday, March 10, 2017

grOw/cinema, Episode II underway!

Episode II of grOw/cinema is well underway, with full script written and the first 17 frames completed! This issue is about as long as extended Episode I, at 80 frames. With 17 frames drawn and colored, this episode is just over 20% done! I had some "real life" work this past few weeks, or I would have had more done. But I am hoping this won't be the case over the next few weeks.

Tuesday, February 28, 2017

grOw/cinema : Episode II progress...

Well, the script has been written, and the 82 panels have been sketched out for Episode II of grOw/cinema! Yep! It's going to be another long one, like last time!  :) I had hoped to have announced this yesterday, but I made a few changes to the end of this episode, which took some time to work out. Nothing was scrapped in the change. I added a new twist to the next-to-last scene, which cut short what was to be the last scene. But what was "cut short" is simply being pushed into Episode III (and not removed entirely).

grOw/cinema, issue 1 art completed. Post-production to be completed

Well, the final frames of the first issue of grOw/cinema have been completed!  These include 2-1/2 frames that were redrawn and recolored because I didn't like how they came out. In the beginning, I was still "playing" with the style of line work that the "cinema" series would have. Originally, it was going to be much simpler, and even a bit stylized like an animated movie (not "anime", however). However, as this first issue developed, I drifted (almost subconsciously) to linework that was more detailed, more real, and less stylized. The few aforementioned frames no longer fit this tack, so I had to redo them.

I still have to do a few rounds of proofreading (to make sure everything is caught... it's amazing what you can skip over). I also have to finalize the name of this first chapter (which I am still mulling over). Then, it's all the post production work, such as creating the PDF, programming the ecommerce store, all the website graphics and setting-up the new web pages.

This first issue will feature breast expansion (big, huge), ass expansion (slim to Kardashian), penis expansion (big!), personality change, and changing reality.

My outlook is a release early next week — probably either Monday (later in the day) or Tuesday (early in day) (* times based on EST, or GMT-4).

Hang in there! The first, new issue of grOw/cinema: "The Ever-Expanding Universe" is almost ready for blast off!

grOw/cinema, issue 1 — 86% done!

Another 10 frames were completed this week, a little less than I had hoped, but still a good chunk.  Some "real life" work took my attention and time away from working on this issue, unfortunately. However, some of the panels too extra work due to the camera angles and character interaction, so that's cool.  70 frames of 81 in this issue are now done. Only 11 more to go, and then I have to create some sort of cover. Hang in there — getting close!

grOw/cinema #1, 75% complete!

I didn't get as many frames completed this week as I had last week, but I still made great progress. I completed 11 new frames (bringing the total to 60 frames of 81 completed). Some "real life" work took most of one day, which had taken me away from working on this issue. Also, some of the frames had some major "character overlapping" and "interesting camera angles" which had taken more time. I am really enjoying working on, and seeing the results of this new format.  Enjoy the preview!

grOw/cinema 1 over 60% complete!

In the past week, I was able to complete 19 more panels to the first issue of grOw/cinema, the new, upcoming series, titled "The Ever Expanding Universe." The first issue will be an extra-long 81 panels long (of which, 49 pages are now done). This larger issue is roughly equivalent to the extra-long, 23-page last issue of grOw/cOmic#6, which had 79 panels. Most of the grOw/cOmic 6 series was between 55-64 panels per issue, and this series will most likely be the same.

I have added a few more panels to this issue from its initial script, and have added some ass/hip expansion to it as well.  This first issue will include breast expansion (big/huge), ass expansion, penis expansion, and "changing history".

grOw/cinema 1, issue 1 more than a third completed!

I have been working away on the first issue of grOw/cinema #1, "The Ever Expanding Universe".  The first issue will be extra long at about 80 panels. This is equivalent to the last issue of grOw/cOmic#6, which was an extra-long 23 pages. I've really settled into the new style, format, and look. It took a bit to acclimate myself to it, but now the work in flowing nicely. In many ways, I like it better than the ways I've been doing things up to this point.

I can make softer lines which gives it a nicer, realer feel. This is something I hadn't expected, previously always trying to achieve a nice, crisp line in Adobe Illustrator. I can also light and shade panels so much quicker since, after laying down the base color, I use just a few layers (2 lighting, 2 shading) to achieve lighting affects with a simple gray scale painting. No more choosing subjective colors for lights and shades. I can even apply this gray scale shading over multiple, differently-colored objects and achieve a more harmonious lighting. I love it. I also have been loving using this method to achieve better hair.

As of this writing, I have completed 30 out of 81 panels (and am halfway through panel 31). That's about 38% complete. Now, this was done since about Dec 28th, and not since Nov 28th when the last grOw/cOmic was released. (The time between Nov 28 and Dec 28 was spent working on "real life" end-of-year projects, writing this new series and rough-sketching the panels, building three 3D background scenes, researching and testing this new method, as well as a holiday vacation.)  So, in reality, that's drawing, inking and coloring about 30 panels in just 2 weeks. Hopefully, I can get this first issue done in the next 3 or so weeks. This will be a huge increase in issue productivity!

Since each page is a single, movie-screen ratio panel, I won't be showing a preview from each page, similar to when I produce grOw/stOries. I will release a few previews from each issue every so often.
