Page 54 completed!

Just before ending the week before New Year's Eve celebrations, I've completed page 54. It was a page of interesting lighting work, as I had to depict both dark shadow and bright light. Enjoy the preview!

To all those who have supported my this year, by purchasing any of the grOw series, I thank you heartily. Your support has allowed my to spend the countless hours working on these issues. Without that support, such work would be impossible.
So, I wish my supporters a full and lively year. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! This especially goes to those individuals who have quickly informed me of any and all of these illegally distributed sites. The MANY of you are TRUE supporters of the BE community!

Pages 52 and 53 completed!

Hope everyone had a good holiday, whatever it may have been!

I'm back with a couple of updates. I actually finished page 52 on Christmas Eve, but didn't have time to post the update here. So, with that, plus the work done today, I am able to post 2 page previews — pages 52 and 53!

For those of you who know my Gallery at the BEA, and are
Members of that website, you can see my 2 newest FanTITy morphs (#37 and #38), which I just posted there.

Issue 4: pages 49, 50, and 51

Well, the issue 3 post has been at the top of the blog long enough, and now is the time to get back to the updates. The first three pages of the FINAL issue "An Inconvenient Growth" have been completed!

I have also included here the "issue map" to show you how far we have to go to completion. In some ways, we have less, since I do not have to do a cover for the next chapter to be an end of issue sneak peak.

Enjoy the 3 previews!

grOw/cOmic#3, issue 3, RELEASED!

The newest issue is now available at www.bustartist.com !

aninconvenientgrowth Chapter 3: "Please continue to hold..." 16 color pages, plus 2 covers

Julie was torn between conflicting emotions. The answer to the question of what was causing her breasts to grow so large turned out to be both enlightening and frightening. It told her why it was happening, but not how she could cause it to stop. On top of that, her mind was ragging with contradictory feelings - she did not know whether to cover her exposed, growing boobs, or to allow Tyler to see them in all their glory.

Tyler, in the meantime, was also having opposing thoughts, all of which were due to Julie's inexorably inflating mounds of tit flesh. His mind was divided between finding a way out of the small elevator, which seemed to be "getting smaller" by the moment, and being continuously distracted by the ballooning gazongas of his new found friend.

With space and time running out, the two elevator-mates seemed destined to become closer to each other, one way or another.

Pages 47 and 48 complete!

Huh... look at that. I came here to post page 48, when I realized that I never posted page 47 yesterday! I guess I was distracted by my site's email problems (which are now fixed) and forgot to post. Well, I guess it's like getting a double-update! These are the last 2 pages of the issue. The only thing left is creating the cover of issue 4 (which will be a sneak preview at the end of the issue 3), proofreading (and correcting), final production of the PDF and launching it at the store. Release will probably be sometime during the first half of next week. My next update here at the blog will be to announce the availability of issue 3. Watch this space! In the meantime, enjoy the last 2 previews of issue 3!

1 more down, 2 to go!

Page 46 has just been completed — a little later in the day than usual, but this one took some extra work. We are getting closer to completion, with just a scant 2 pages (plus the cover to issue 4) to be finished! I doubt it will be finished this week — but instead, most likely, we should have a release of issue #3 by the middle of next week! Enjoy the preview.

On a side note, my email is down, as my Host transfers over to a new email system. Hopefully, it will be up in the next 24 hours.

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

Page 45 completed!

I was hoping to have had this up yesterday, but it was just a little too much work. The page had quite a bit of shadowing and lighting work to be carefully crafted. So, I finished page 45 this morning. This leaves just 3 more to go! Updates may slow a bit over the next few days, as "real life" work is once again getting busier. Hopefully, it won't make too much of an impact. In the meantime, enjoy the preview!

Monday, December 8, 2008

Page 44 finalized! 4 more to go!

I started this page on Friday, but was unable to finish it then. This page had some noticeable detail, so it took a little longer. We are getting closer, with only 4 more pages, and the cover to issue 4 to go! Enjoy the preview!

Friday, December 5, 2008

Page 43 complete!

Chip, chip, chip... the work is coming along. I just finished page 43, which brings us to just 5 pages left! This was another more complicated page, so it took the bulk of the day (including the fact that I started on it yesterday). Tension is building, and the dramatic frames are reflecting that. Enjoy the preview!

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Page 42 finished!

Another page is complete, and we are one more step closer to the release of issue 3 of grOw/cOmic#3, "An Inconvenient Growth". With page 42 done, there are only 6 more pages to go (plus the cover of issue 4)! This page was a little more complicated than the last four, so, unfortunately, no two-page updates will happen today.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Yet Another for today! Page 41

Two days in a row with 2 pages each — yes, page 41 is complete! How did this happen so fast? Well, this page only had 2 panels — for dramatic effect. Because of this, it was easier to finish quickly. The next few pages are more complicated, so I may not be able to continue this pace for the rest of the week. But for now, enjoy the second preview for today!

Page 40 complete! We are at the half way mark.

Page 40 is finished, and represents the completion of half of the 16 pages of issue 3. Eight more pages to go! (See the updated progress map.) As you can see by the preview, the tension is really building in the story now.

In terms of the art, the upgrade to Adobe CS4 (I am u
sing Illustrator and Photoshop) has really made an improvement in both work quality and speed. I am very much liking this jump from CS2 to CS4 (I used the CS3 trial for about a month in between). Enjoy the preview!

Holy breaking bras! 2 pages in 1 day!

Yep, I just finished another page — page 39! I really made some good progress today. The "real life work" forces have given me a break this afternoon, allowing me to put more time into issue 3 of grOw/cOmic#3, "An Inconvenient Growth". This was a great page to work on, with a lot of drama. Depth of field blurring, close ups, low angle shots — all to really enhance the tension that is building, especially on this page. Enjoy the preview!

Page 38 finished!

Moving along steadily, with the completion of the next page — 38. A combination of the Thanksgiving Day holiday, and the crush of work leading up to it, caused a small slow down. But I am now moving ahead. Thank you to all who wished me a happy Thanksgiving in the comments for page 37! Enjoy the preview -- I think its a particularly enticing "BE" one!

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Page 37 complete.

The slow progress continues — good for the "progress", bad for the "slow". Things are slowing down in my "real life" work, now that the Thanksgiving holiday is approaching. Hopefully, I will be able to get another page done tomorrow, and maybe one by Friday. Issue 3 won't be released within 1 month, like issue 2. However, I am shooting for sometime before Christmas. Like last time, I could have a sudden burst of page production, which will allow me to release it earlier than that. We will have to wait and see. In the meantime, enjoy the preview for page 37!

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Slowly but surely — page 36 is done.

As you may have guessed from the slow updates, I am back in a heavy round of "real life" work that is slowing down progress on issue 3. It is NOT as bad as the slowdown that happened during issue 2, which is a good thing. The other good thing is that issue 2 still came out 34 days after issue 1, a new record. I am hoping for a similar release with issue 3. (Keeping fingers crossed.) Enjoy the preview!

Page 35 complete!

Just finished page 35, which took a little extra work — this page had a number of different panels with our main characters in them, and included much detail. I have to say that Photoshop CS4's new rotate canvas feature has come in handy here, allowing me to rotate the entire image on screen so that it was easier for me to do certain curved brush strokes in a more natural way for my hand on my Wacom tablet.

I was asked to show a "map" of the current progress of this series, as I did before with the end of grOw/cOmic #2. Here it is! As you can see, there are still 32 pages to be released in this series! Now, I won't update this all the time, but on occasion, I will update it to show you where we are. You can always check back to this entry when I mention a certain page number, too.

Enjoy the preview!

Back to the updates! Pages 33, 34 complete!

I've left the announcement for the release of issue 2 up at the top of the page long enough. It is now time to continue on with the updates for issue 3 ! I just completed pages 33 and 34, the first two pages of issue 3. Things are going to get really heated in issue 3, as those who saw the button-popping, bra-ripping sneak preview of the 3rd chapter cover can see. This sneak preview appeared at the end of issue 2, and in the newest BA Studios' Catalogue. And remember, we still have issue 4 after that. In the meantime, enjoy the two previews!

Friday, November 7, 2008

Issue 2 of grOw/cOmic#3 RELEASED!

Well, I was able to keep my aggressive schedule to get issue #2 out. I didn't think I'd make it with the 2-week "real life" work workload that crashed down on me during this past month.

aninconvenientgrowth Issue 2: "We apologize for the delay..." 16 color pages, plus 2 covers, and 1 page of preview sketches of next issue.

Julie found herself stuck in the elevator of her apartment building. With her in the tiny, creaky lift was Tyler, "the guy-from-the-ninth-floor" who she had a crush on. Unfortunately, while things may seem like they were going her way, something always came up to ruin it all. He already had a girlfriend - the redhead Missy. And her breasts were growing - growing far bigger than she planned when she drank the Chinese formula she purchased downtown. They had just ripped her shirt to the point of uselessness, and were continuing to grow! With all the inconveniences crashing down around her all at once, the small elevator seemed to be getting smaller by the minute.

Last page of issue#2 completed!

Page 32 has been completed! Issue#2 is done. I still have to finish the cover to issue 3, so that you will have the traditional sneak peak at the end of the chapter. I am starting on that now. After that, it is just a matter of proofreading, creating the final PDF, and setting up the store — then, it will be released. If all works out well, that should be between Friday early evening to Monday evening. Enjoy the last preview for issue#2!

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

Page 31 complete! 2 in one day!

Wow. I finished a second page today -- a first! Well, I did complete the 1st of the 2 pages early this morning, so its not like I was able to actually color 2 pages in a day. But the results are similar. Only ONE page to go, plus the cover to issue 3! Almost there!

Page 30 complete, only 2 more to go!

Just completed page 30 this morning. I thought I would get it done last night, which would have been 2 pages in one day, but it was a little too much -- I was tired. After my 2 week major slow-down due to work commitments, I am making good progress. Page 30 was a fun page to do, with the story pacing hitting a peak -- a nice "BE-centric" scene.

Monday, November 3, 2008

Page 29 completed! 3 more to go!

We coming into the home stretch for issue 2, with today's completion of page 29. This issue goes from pages 17-32, so there are only 3 more pages to go in the issue. I will also be doing the cover for the next issue, so there will be that sneak preview at the end. Hang in there!

Friday, October 31, 2008

Page 28, completed!

Progress is moving along quite steadily. Not quite as fast as the beginning, but 1 page every other day is pretty good! Enjoy the preview.

And Happy Halloween!

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Page 27 complete!

Well, updates may be a little sporadic than they were 2 weeks ago, but I think they will also be much more frequent than they recently have been. The crushing deadlines and workloads of the last 2 weeks are starting to ease, giving me more time to work on grOw/cOmic#2, issue 2. As you can see, I was able to get another page done in 2 days, as compared to the 7 days or so for the last page. Hopefully, this will continue, or even get better.

The last 2 pages have been done in the newest version of Adobe's Creative Suite, CS4. I really like the improvements they have made, and I am enjoying using the new programs. Some of the new features are also helping me speed up the process a bit. That, and I am also getting a lot of practice with drawings and coloring with the two main characters. Well, enjoy the preview!

Page 26 complete... whew!

Yeah, it's been a bad 2 weeks. "RL" work has been kicking my ass, more so than any time in the last 6 months. I guess with the economy as it is, that's a good thing. But, as you may have noticed, it put a real damper on the output of issue #2. The good news is that there is light at the end of the tunnel, as the multiple, simultaneous projects that I have been slaving over for the past 2 weeks is coming to an end.

This page took almost 7 days to complete due to my schedule (see above). However, it is finally done, and you can view a larger preview by clicking on the picture to the right. Enjoy!

page 25 complete — finally!

Well, the end of last week was filled with nothing but a whole lot of suck, ending in a Friday that left me working 8:30am to 9:15 PM ! Needless to say, I wasn't able to finish a whole lot of work on the next issue of grOw/cOmic#3. In fact, I just finished page 25 this morning, taking 3+ days. I hope this week doesn't continue in this fashion, but it may not be as prolific as the begining of last week or the previous. In the meantime, enjoy the preview!

Good news, however, is that my Adobe Creative Suite CS4 arrived Friday, and I installed it over the weekend. I've mostly played around in Photoshop this weekend, finishing up the shading on the last page. So far... I like it!

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

The halfway mark, Page 24, completed!

8 of the 16 pages if issue #2 are now finished, with the completion of page 24. With 8 pages and the cover of issue #3 to go, if things keep up as they have been, my initial release date of Nov 5-7 is well within reach right now. Let's keep fingers crossed that this is the case. In the meantime, enjoy the preview!

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Page 23 completed! 9 more to go.

I tried to finish yesterday, but the last 2 days have been quite hectic with last-minute projects. I was, however, to complete the page this morning. All-in-all, things are moving along quite swiftly. Enjoy the preview! 9 more pages, plus the cover of issue 3, to go!

Friday, October 10, 2008

Page 22 completed!

Another day, another page! I made some good progress today, considering the detail on this page. I was able to finish, keeping my nearly 1-page-a-day pace intact. With pages 17-22 of issue 2 complete, there are 10 more pages and the cover to issue 3 to go before release. I am still targeting to make this the fastest "next issue" release so far. Keeping my fingers crossed! Enjoy the preview!

Thursday, October 9, 2008

Page 21 complete!

Chip, chip, chip.. another page is done! I've been making pretty good progress so far, considering my workload. Hopefully, this will continue, and I can make the fastest time for "next release" ever. Enjoy the preview!

grOw/cOmic#3, page 20 complete!

The fourth page of the second issue, page 20 of the series, has been completed. This one took a little longer, as it had quite a few of Photoshop effects on a number of panels (not apparent here in the preview). Now it's on to page 21... 12 more to go!

Monday, October 6, 2008

grOw/cOmic#3, pages 17-19 (issue 2) complete!

If you go back in time in my blog, you will see that I mention that I tried to get most of the pencil drawing planned and completed for the entire series of grOw/cOmic#3. I was nearly successful, finishing up to the first few pages of issue 4. This means, the time between issues should be much less than grOw/cOmic#2. For that series, it was 79 days between issues 3 and 4, and 90 days between issues 4 and 5. (There was a longer 112 day span between issues 2 and 3, but that's because I released a 3 grOw/stOries in-between as well). Now, I MAY release a stOry in between issues of this cOmic series, but I am hoping for a more streamlined release schedule for "An Inconvenient Growth" (barring any unforseen "happenings" that I know all too well can happen).

So, to continue on with the progress reports on grOw/cOmic#3, "An Inconvenient Growth", here are previews to the first 3 pages of issue 2 !! Best case scenario is a release by Nov 5. Worse case would be Dec. 30. Enjoy the previews!

grOw/cOmic#3, "An Inconvenient Growth" Released!

It has arrived! The newest grOw/cOmic series has begun! Issue 1 in the new 4-part series is now available at www.bustartist.com .

anincovenientgrowth: Issue 1: "We're sorry for any inconvenience..."
Julie was on her way home from just acquiring a very secretive, and elusive breast growth formula from Chinatown. Her goal was to increase her modest bustline to a respectable D-cup, so that she had a chance at attracting a nice guy at the gym - maybe even the “guy-from-the-ninth-floor” that she always had a crush on. With a triumphant swig, Julie drinks the formula.

However, Julie's plan is thrown into chaos, as she is forced to run home to clean herself off from a terrifying accident. Once home, she runs into her secret crush in the elevator. On top of all the other inconveniences that have plagued her Friday, her breasts start growing much faster, and much larger, than they were supposed to due to the Chinese formula. And she has no idea why!

Category: Breast Expansion
(chemical/unknown: big); clothes stretching/buttons popping

This is the first issue in a 4-part series that will be a deep exploration of "BE". Growth will be steady across all 4 issues, and will involve all sorts of "BE sub-genres": growth, tight clothing, buttons bursting, bra breaking, heightened sensitivity, desire and fear of growth, growth while asleep and awake, tight spaces due to growth, "voyeristic-like" scenes during growth. And with a 4-issue span, the growth will take us through many stages of breast size — something for everyone. There will also be a number of plot twists to move the story along: plans gone wrong, mysterious reasons for growth, infatuation and lust, jealousy and desire, friendship and love, tension and release, and even fear and a touch of danger. The story focuses intimately on 2 main characters who you will get to know, experiencing their feelings, desires, and interactions both during BE and non-BE scenes.

The covers are done. Release soon!

I just finished the 2 covers for grOw/cOmic#3, "An Inconvenient Growth" -- the cover for issue 1, and for issue 2 (which will be shown as a sneak peak at the end of issue 1). No previews today -- I will show the cover for issue 1 when it is released. Right now, I am in production — proofreading, store updates & graphics, etc. I am hoping for an October 1st release. Watch this spot for news!

Page 16 complete! Almost there!

The final page of issue 1 of the new grOw/cOmic: "An Inconvenient Growth", has been completed! Now, all that's left, is the cover to issue 1, the cover to issue 2 (to be shown as a sneak peak at the end of this chapter), and the standard proofreading and PDF produciton. Hang in there! Enjoy the preview!

Page 15 completed! 1 more to go!

Chip, chip, chip... I just finished page 15. This one took a couple of extra "chips", as it was a detailed page, with 7 panels. Things are starting to really heat up, as we approach the last 2 pages of issue 1. I am now beginning page 16, which is the final page of Chapter 1. Then, I will work on the cover for both issues 1 and 2. As in grOw/cOmic#2, I like to have a preview of the next issue's cover at the end of each installment. Enjoy the preview!

Page 14 complete of grOw/cOmic#3 !

Slow, but steady — I've been getting swamped with "real life" work over the past week, keeping me from working on the issue as much as I want to. Today, however, I was able to crank out a page. I had to work late to do so, but it was accomplished. Too tired to write any more. :) Enjoy the preview! Only 2 more pages and the cover to go!

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

Page 13 complete! 3 more to go!

Well, this one took a little while longer — for various reasons. But finally, page 13 has arrived to the "completed pile". I've really been using lots of Photoshop layer style and effects to enhance the look of the comic and decrease production time. Many of the layer effects are used subtly, but the slight difference they add is greater than the sum of their parts. For example, using "Outer Glow" to make the characters pop off the background. Now, of course, I don't make them actually "glow". Instead, I reverse the "standard" function of the style, changing the color from yellow to a dark bluish-gray, and then the blending from Screen to Multiply, and dropping the strength down to 20-30%. This give the effect of a Shadow, but unlike "Drop Shadow", it appears all around the item, not in one direction. Then, I do the same for "Inner Shadow" — reversing it and making it more of a "light" function, rather than a "shadow" function. This gives me a easy "edge light" that really makes the character pop. Of course, I paint in my own edge lighting, but this adds to it, and gives me an even line around a character in a couple of clicks (saving me time, and getting a page done faster). Check out the example below (taken from grOw/cOmic#2):

Enjoy the preview of page 13, above!
