grOw/cOmic#6, page 77 completed!
I had really hoped to have finished page 77 yesterday, but a combination of real-life work popping up and extra special effects required for the page made it just a bit impossible to do so. But I was able to complete it today, with all the drips, drops, puddles, and rivers in their full glory. On to the next page...

grOw/cOmic#6, page 76 completed!
I was able to make great progress and just finished page 76 of grOw/cOmic#6. This is the second page of issue 5 ("The Plot Revealed"). I worked late to get it done today because I was so close to completion "at quitting time." The extra work was due to the extra "special effects" required for this page (as you can see a bit in this preview): splatters, squirts, wet clothing, reflections, ripples, splashes. It was well worth the time. ;)

grOw/cOmic#6, page 75 completed!
The first page of issue 5 for grOw/cOmic#6 has been completed. I actually finished it yesterday, but forgot to post the preview, as I was done very late in the day.
I had a few delays getting to this point; I had hoped to have completed 2 pages by the end of this week. Some "real life" projects had popped up, as well as an unfortunate dental incident. Seems an old filling had developed decay underneath it, and part of my tooth broke off while munching popcorn (last Thursday). No pain, just surprise. However, this left the filling exposed and a fractured tooth. Turned out it couldn't be refilled, and since it was so deep, needed a root canal. "Oh yay." $$$ The first part of that was Wednesday; I go back in 2 weeks for the final cap.
But, for now, it's on to page 76...

grOw/cOmic#6, issue 5 pencils completed, scanned.
I finished the pencils this past Friday for issue 5 of "Milking the Plot." I didn't post this until today because I didn't complete the pencils until very late, and had not scanned any of them (I wanted to include 2 previews with this post). Each page is drawn at about 11"x15", so it takes 2 scans per page, and some compositing to get it ready for inking and painting (and previewing). I completed this stage today, allowing me to choose a couple of previews from all the drawings. Tomorrow, I will be able to start inking and painting, which means color previews will be coming soon.

grOw/cOmic#6, issue 5 pencils half done
I've been working over the last few days on the pencil drawings for issue 5 ("The Plot Revealed") of grOw/cOmic#6 ("Milking the Plot") and was able to complete half of them (9 of 18 pages). It took a little extra time as many frames required simple Poser figure set-ups to make sure I had proper proportions to the camera angles I chose. I also used these virtual models to make sure I had proper placement and angle of characters in relation to the background. Over the coming week, I will be working on the next 9 pages and hope to begin the ink and paint stage by the end of next week.

grow/cOmic#6, issue 5 work begins!
For the past 2 weeks, since the release of issue 4, I have been working on getting ready to launch into the production of issue 5, titled "The Plot Revealed." This gearing up included a lot things:
- Clearing my plate of "real life' work projects I had put off to get issue 4 out as soon as possible.
- Recrafting and writing more storyline so as to add more chapters. I was able to add 2 more for a total of 8! I had to do this before working on issue 5 to make sure the story stayed consistent with the new ideas for chapters 6 and 7. This included a slight rewrite of the ending of issue 5. While chapters 7 and 8 are not completely written yet, I have a good outline for them. I will be finishing up the writing for the last chapters between now and when I begin work on issue 6. When all is said and done, this series will wind up having between 144-150 pages in total!
- Setting up Poser and Shade3D backgrounds for issue 5. Before drawing some of the scenes, I need to make sure I match my characters to the 3D background. Because of this, I stick a simple Poser figure in the 3D background and use it as a proportional model to draw the final figures from so that they meld with the scene.
- And finally, beginning the actual drawing of issue 5. I have completed 2 pages and a small start on page 3 (page 77 of the series). When I get more done, I will be posting a few pencil previews.
