GC#4, page 70 complete!

Work has resumed in full after a long (and MUCH needed) break during the end-of-year holidays, with the completion of page 70. I am glad that I actually got a decent start on this page before the break, as it took a lot of time to finish. Full of details, this near-climatic page took longer than I expected. The next page may take a little longer as well due to the multiple panels and often-mentioned details that have been a recurrence in this chapter. We are closing in on the release of this issue with only 2 more pages (and the cover to issue 5) to go! Enjoy the preview!

Not a fan of the muscle growth, the details and the work he puts in is incredible and I'll still get it to support BA. But this is a direction I'm not enjoying and feedback should be heard.

Fan of FMG or not, this is BA's first (and most likely only) FMG character so stop with the "feedback" ^_^ I am and many other FMG fans are really looking forward to this issue!

I love how it's always alright for people to clamor on about wanting this or wanting that, but if someone says they're not a fan people get pissy. Just because someone's not a fan doesn't mean he doesn't like the art. feedback or not, people are still allowed free thought. Me i'm not into fmg either, but it's still amazing artwork.

lovey to hear that.....

This looks really good. I don't really like FMG normally, but BustArtist has made it look tasteful.

Sorry for the delays on the next page, everyone. I *am* working on it, with at least 1-2 hours each day for the last 5 (business) days. However, "RL" work has slowed me down, as well as "back log" from my week off, as well as this page is definitely a detailed one. I think this one panel that I am working on now has taken me at least 7-8 hours alone already, and I am not quite done with panel 2 of 4. The current panel is the last true "FMG panel" of the issue, and I want to make sure it gets its good amount of work on it.

Now, on to the other items mentioned above in the comments. I am completely open to feedback, positive and "negative". "Negative" is just fine, if it is to the point, explanatory, and gives a good description. Objectively, I think the "meh" in the post above sounded derisive (even if it was not meant to be), and that is what threw off some others who are excited for this issue and into FMG. The fact that you (and others) are, or are not, an FMG fan *is* important for me to know, and is taken in stride. The "feedback should be heard" post, if that is the same person as the "meh", is a much better post, and is "good" negative feedback.

For example, I have received a number of "negative" feedback emails and a few posts on the ass expansion in the last issue. These were all "good" because they explained that while they liked the new addition to my "line up", they would like to see more and larger in the future. This is good, since I actually thought I had gone far enough, if not just started to push the limits, on what most would like. (And this was based on the feedback I received prior to the issue.)

Now, of course, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to please all. I will choose to do more or less for each "growth" to balance this out over the course of different issues. But feedback, good and "bad", will help me gauge the direction I can go. Of course, this is always filtered through my "own" tastes. :D

Another example of the outcome of good "negative" feedback is the inclusion of the "no-text/art-only" pages in the appendix of the last few issues. Some wanted to see more of the art. Of course, you need the story (IMHO), including narration and dialogue. So, to please both, I figured adding these pages at the end would help. Now that you've read the story, it gives you the chance to appreciate the art alone afterwards for some of the most intense panels.

:D

Thanks for the update BA, even if it's just to say you're busy.
It's good that you're taking on feedback. I'd make the difference between Praise, Constructive Criticism & Disapproval.
I am really pleased that you're including some pages without the text boxes in your Comics. Having the story is important, but to see the image without textboxes helps immerse yourself more. What you're doing lets us have it both ways :D

Don't sweat the naysayers, it's their loss.

You can please some of the people most of the time,
and you can please most of the people some of the time,
but you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Just wanted to pop in and say how much I appreciate your work BA. I am a huge FMG fan and it is great to see some new material in this genre.

I know it's not one of the most popular growths out there but it has a very loyal fan base. I hope nay sayers don't drive you away from doing more of this in the future (hence me speaking up).

Hope RL doesn't drag you down too much. Again, great work and can't wait to see the finished product!

With your work, I never have found anything to negatively turn me away.

While I enjoyed the epilogue to Grow3 more than the lead-up, I still loved that you decided to tell a 'gradual growth' story where so many would have just jumped ahead.

I also am not a big fan of fmg, but that doesn't mean i'll skip this chapter.

I must admit that I do feel a tinge of jealousy that you have real-life art assignments that keep you busy. I never seem to have enough credentials to get paid to do art. Of course I could do commissions, but I'm not sure it'd be worth it.

I listen to the naysayers, but only if it is constructive, or just plain "like/dislike." Nothing wrong on saying you don't like something, it just depends on how it is said.

This has been my first and only attempt at FMG. Where it goes from here depends on the feedback. I may try it from time to time to a certain degree or for a still image. It's not normally my "thing", but I've gained a better understanding, and appreciation, of it by doing this chapter. It definitely pushed my skills in the anatomy department. :)

However, for those who are not "into" FMG, I tried to make the growth have a reason, and a point for the character. The story is not just about growth, but how it is used. All the "victims" have had different responses to their changes. So, open your mind, go with the story aspect, and how it affects our hero. =8O

Plus, of course, you still have MaryBeth to enjoy! ;D~~
