GC#4, page 68 complete!
With just minutes to spare before the weekend, page 68 has been completed! "Real life" work has taken a quick pause, as clients haven't gotten back to me on certain projects (that are still in the works), so I had more time to get another page out the door. It helped that this page was a little easier on the amount of panels, faces, and details — a sum of which can really slow things down. However, the next 3 pages are all quite detailed and have multiple panels, so they will take more time. Only 4 pages to go!

Looking awesome BA. Have a great festive season, this is definitely your best series yet.
n01 in particular.
It's looking great BA! Have a great holidays and I look forward to the next four pages after your break.

Well, don't count me out just yet! I have 4 days next week to work on stuff! (I'll be away from Dec 24 - Jan 2)
May be a race, but there's no losers! The previews look great - characters look like they barely fit the page now. Hope the you get to enjoy the holidays and your personal biz is taken care off in the coming weeks. Hope 2011 is a good year.
Oh wow! Well in that case, godspeed BA! :)

That preview is so enticing. What's going on!? How is it setting up the next issue?!
Come on BA! 3 pages and a cover in 4 days! You can do it!
I rather have him not race to finish to destory the quality. The wait is worth it.
Of course BA would never sacrifice quality!
I was just encouraging him to work an extra hour or something to get a page done sooner :)
Actually not looking forward to this one. artwork is fantastic, mini gts is groovy, just not into the body builder look. Still beautiful artwork.
well to bad "Anneqwish" your not into Female muscle :P, im REALLY looking forward to this issue, the whole series is great but this one should be my fav ;)

I'm biting my nails in anticipation!
Well, I'm going to count you out now, it's time to relax and enjoy the season. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! (:
I look forward to your updates and impending release in the new year.
n01 in particular.
Well BA it's been quite the year. I skimmed over all your 2010 blog posts and realised just how much time GrOw4 has/is taking.
You've produced fantastic work BA. I go back and read GrOw2 and see in hindsight a big jump in quality from issue 2 to issue 3. I suspect that the same will happen with GrOw4, probably with all the work you're doing with FMG.
Despite the tastes of some, I'm looking forward to the FMG. It's not quite my thing but it's nice to try something new, and I like to think that supporting some of your pieces that may not be to my tastes is still supporting the ones that I love.
Here's to a great 2011

other290: Thanks! Glad you like the previews. I am hoping 2011 will be better than 2009 and 2010.
Anonymous 1: Mwaa haa haa. You will have to see to find out!
Anonymous 2: To quote a Simpsons episode where Homer asks if the Itchy and Scratchy cartoon is a "live" broadcast: "Uh, Homer, no. A cartoon is not done live. It puts an incredible strain on the animators' wrists."
Anonymous 3: Don't worry. I will "push it", but not beyond what would cause a dip in quality. I've worked in the NY Advertising/Graphic Design field for years, so I know about deadlines and working fast. :D The "extra hour", when possible, is done on occassion now. :)
Anneqwish.: I understand. FMG is not for everyone. But that is why I also have MaryBeth in the isuse, as well as the change in "role" Jon plays in this one from the last issue. It's not just the look of physical aspects, but how they are used! }:> ~
Kidmanga: I hope you enjoy it!
Anonymous 4: As my Mom always said: "Don't bite your nails!" (I still do it to this day.) ;D
n01 in particular: Monty Python:"I'm not dead yet!" I am about to continue working on page 69 now. I am almost sure I will finish it by Thursday (and maybe even today!!). I am about 65% done with it right now.
Potato: Thank you. I am glad you've like my work so much! I am always trying to discover new techniques to improve my quality and speed.
One of the reasons the rate of issues has been slower this year is due to the added details I have been adding. However, I have also streamlined some unneccessary techniques, and in general, gotten more proficient, so that the extra time has been mitigated. Think of it as adding 100% more detail for the price of only 30% more time.
Also, "real life" work hasn't been too cooperative at times. Not just a heavy workload (which I can handle) but a slew of "new subjects" I was forced to learn in short periods of time (SEO, dealing with PHP and databases, Wordpress, programmers, third level domains and redirects -- "I'm an artist, not an engineer, Jim!"). I hope this changes.
Everyone's continued support (in purchasing and pointing out illegal sharing) will help me, one day, focus solely on grOw, or at least, at a much higher percentage of my time. And my THANKS to all who continue to support me in this way.
Releases by year (cOmics and stOries): 2005: 1 / 2006: 0 / 2007: 5 / 2008: 7 / 2009: 5 / 2010: 3 (almost 4).
Wait... why am I still writing? It's time to get back to the artwork!
