grOw/cOmic#6, page 39 completed!

Well, it took an extra day than usual, but page 39 was full of detail that required it — plenty of interacting characters, overlapping limbs, sculpting waves of soft boob, tattered and torn clothing... well, you get the picture.  ;-)  Enjoy the newest preview as I embark on page 40.

grOw/cOmic#6, page 38 completed!

The second page of issue 3 (page 38) has not been completed!  Luckily I got a great start on it yesterday, so that I could finish it today. The page had a lot of overlaps — characters, boobs, clothing, glasses.  This takes extra time because of all the intricate selecting needed to be done in Photoshop when coloring each element. And of course, a few motion effects were needed as well. 

The next page has numerous characters, so I know it won't be done by tomorrow, but, hopefully by Monday.

grOw/cOmic#6, page 37 completed!

The first page of issue 3 of grOw/cOmic#6 (page 37 of the series) has been completed.  It was actually finished late yesterday, but I was so busy I hadn't had the time to post an update.  I have also made great progress on the next page as well! A few "real life" situations have slowed me somewhat over the past 2 weeks, but these are thinning out and I hope to ramp up the speed of this newest issue's production.

grOw/cOmic#6, issue 3 — pencils completed!

I have been working hard on finishing the pencils for issue 3 of grOw/cOmic#6 this week, and I have been successful in doing so. And I am very happy with the results. In fact, I had completed them yesterday, but had hoped to also show a color ink-and-paint preview of the first page. This proved too much for 1 day (although, I made great progress on the coloring of page 37). Here is another pencil preview. I will be showing completed color previews next week. Enjoy!

grOw/cOmic#6, issue 3 -- more pencils completed!

More, but not all. Unfortunately, I am no near where I had hoped to be at this time on issue 3 of grOw/cOmic#6. Right now, I have completed 10 out of 19 pages. The last two weeks were filled with big "real life work" projects as well as many personal, time-consuming issues. This includes the passing of my wife's father, just 3 days ago. I will be traveling out of state for the service, so I will not be producing any more drawings for the rest of this week. I will be back to work on Monday (Apr 20) and hope to pump out the last 9 pages as quickly as possible so that I can start on the color ink and paint.

However, the 10 pages so far have been coming along swimmingly!  I have been very satisfied on how they've turned out. This issue has seriously turned up the heat.  ;-)

grOw/cOmic#6, issue 3 pencils have begun!

I've already made a great start on the next issue of the grOw/cOmic#6 series, which will be called "Fleshing Out the Characters." I have made some changes to the script (tightening it up, and reworking a sequence into a better one), sketching out the layout in thumbnail form for the entire issue, as well as drawing the full-page, pencil drawings of the first 3 pages. Interesting enough, these 3 pages are where one of the bigger changes was made. Let's just say the opening of the issue starts out with some great action.  With the laying out of the issue in thumbnail form, I realized that the last few pages were just a little too tightly forced into too few pages. So, I decided to add an extra page to make some of the final frames larger and less crowded. This issue will have 19 pages, instead of 18.
